    Parade Narrative Instructions:

    • Please submit a brief description about yourself.  No more than 100 words.
    • Use bullet points to allow for proper spacing.
    • Narratives may be edited at the discretion of the Parade Committee. 
    • Narrative will be used for television broadcast and will be read at all Announcer Stands along the Parade route.
    • Please keep in mind that this is meant to be concise and to the point as the unit will be moving while Narrative is being read by Parade Announcer.

  • Mandatory General Parade Meeting:

    Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. 

    Mission Memorial Auditorium, 550 S. King St., Honolulu

     The building and surrounding area is currently under renovation and you will see black tarp wrapped around the building. Upon exiting the parking garage/lot, continue on the walking path, a sign will be posted where you need to turn to enter the auditorium.

    Reminder - There is No Food and NO Drinks Allowed in the Auditorium

    Parking: Parking - located in the Frank Fasi Municipal lot.

  • Information for King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade Participants: 

    Parade Committee will provide:

    • A float, assembled and decorated by the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, Moku o Hawaiʻi
    • Retinue of Kīpuʻupuʻu Warriors standing guard on float
    • Malo and regalia of office – mahiʻole and ʻahuʻula

    Parade Route and Staging:

    • Must report to ʻIolani Palace’s Hale Koa (Barracks) by designated time to be wrapped in malo and regalia of office. Shuttle can and will be provided.
    • Parade will start at King and Richards Street fronting the ʻIolani Palace.
      Upon passing the statue of King Kamehameha I, you will not be allowed to stop for any reason
      • Stopping will slow the rest of the Parade down.
      • We ask that tribute to the King be made on the move with song, chant or gesture. At no time should anyone break away from your unit to approach the statue.
    • Turning right onto Punchbowl, passing Kawaiahaʻo Church
      • Parade will marshal on Punchbowl to close gaps between units. Take direction from Parade staff.
      • Left onto Ala Moana Boulevard.
      • Please be mindful of traffic as Parade will cross over from the mauka lanes to the makai lanes to allow for cruise ship traffic.
    • Right onto Kalākaua Avenue.
    • Parade will end at Kapiʻolani Park.
      • All Parade participants must adhere to City & County of Honolulu noise ordinances regarding the Honolulu Zoo.

    Parade Guidelines:

    • You are the embodiment of Kamehameha Paiʻea, and will be expected to act accordingly.
    • Once dressed in malo and regalia of office, you are not allowed to:
      • Pose for pictures (unless organized by Parade Committee)
      • Speak to or socialize with anyone, other than your advisor
      • Smile, wave or throw shakas. A slight nod to your “subjects” will suffice
      • Chew gum, wear jewelry or anything else unbecoming of our King
    • Former Mōʻī will be present Parade morning to review protocol in more detail.

    Parade Day Guidance:

    • All entries must remain in the order assigned by Staging Crew.
      • Absolutely no rearranging of unit or within the unit without explicit approval.
    • We require that unit stay on the Parade route and keep pace with the parade lead.
    • For yours and the crowd’s safety, no distributing or throwing anything from your unit.
      • Watch for children along parade route.
    • Parade begins at 9:00am, assembly start times vary.
    • Stay hydrated throughout the parade route and apply sunscreen prior to parade start.
    • NO FEE to enter.
    • All participants must abide by the rules and regulations established by the Parade Committee.
    • Drivers of vehicles must have good visibility from driver’s seat.
      • Be mindful when decorating the hood of a vehicle. Safety first.
    • Parade will end at Kapiʻolani Park.
      • No music or amplified noise beyond Kapahulu Avenue before the Honolulu Zoo, per City & County noise ordinance.
      • Dismantling of all floats, trolleys and decorated vehicles will take place in the Pākī/Monsarrat parking lot. Dumpsters for trash and green waste will be provided.
      • In addition to HPD, please abide by Parade Security direction and instruction. 
  • The King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade Committee reserves the right of placement of all parade units. Placement will be determined by royal Hawaiian protocols, as well as for the most pleasant, safe, smooth-running parade possible.

    Each individual participating in the 2026 King Kamehameha Parade ("Participant") shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the State of Hawaii, the Department of Accounting & General Services, the King Kamehameha Celebration Commission, and their officers, employees, and agents from and against all liability, loss, damage, cost and expense, including all attorneys' fees, and all claims, suits and demands therefore, arising out of or resulting from the acts or omissions of the Participant in this event. Participant recognizes that there are inherent risks associated with participating in this event and chooses to participate with their own free will.

    I hereby authorize the Commission to use the photographs and video footage taken of our organization, and name, for use in the Commission’s printed publications, ads, website and any form of media. I acknowledge that since our participation in publications, media and websites produced by the Commission is voluntary, I will receive no financial compensation. I further agree that our participation in any publication and website produced by the Commission confers upon me no rights of ownership whatsoever.
