Criteria/Eligibility
- APA member
- Three or more years of involvement at the recommending institution
- Significant and sustained contributions (at least three years at one institution) to the advancement of medical student education in one or more of the following categories: lecture, small group teaching; supervision; course design; course administration; deparmental committees (curriculum, evaluation, and promtions); institutional committees (admissions, curriculum, student affairs, and promotions); career counseling; advising medical student psychiatry clubs; advising student groups; research, publications, and/or presentations in medical education; and extracurricular programs (e.g., student orientation and leading support groups)
Nomination Requirements
- Recommending institution may nominate only one candidate for each faculty category (voluntary and salaried)
- Nominators include departmental chairs or deans of the medical school, directors of medical student education in psychiatry, full-time members of the psychiatry department, and medical student and psychiatry residents

- Letter of nomination, including activities such as lectures, small group teaching, course design, supervision, career counseling, research mentoring, relevant publications, and advising medical student groups.
- A sampling of student evaluations; acknowledgments of teaching awards and commendations
- Nominee's abbreviated CV
